Hawthorne, New Jersey – Dr. Joseph A. Lozito, a respected family medicine physician, has passed away on November 20, 2024, at the age of 89.
Dr. Lozito’s death was confirmed through a heartfelt post from his family, who remembered him for his exceptional kindness and humor.
With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Lozito was known for his compassionate approach to medicine, where he made sure his patients felt heard and valued.
His dedication to healthcare extended beyond the office; he was also a co-founder of the Institute for Medical Weight Loss and Nutrition, an initiative aimed at combating obesity and promoting healthy living.
His passing has deeply affected the Hawthorne community, where he was a trusted physician for generations.
Family and friends shared their condolences on social media, with Eddie Voltron Rivera writing, “Dr. Joe had an amazing smile and a hell of a sense of humor. I’m gonna miss our food conversations.”
Dr. Lozito is survived by his wife, Geraldine, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as countless friends and colleagues.
The family will hold visitation hours on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Keri-Lozito Funeral Home in Lincoln Park, NJ, with a funeral mass to follow on November 25.
