West Islip, New York – Marianne Witt, a beloved mother and grandmother, tragically passed away on November 20, 2024.
Her sudden loss has left her family in mourning, as they cope with the emotional and financial strain of this unexpected event.
Marianne’s daughter, Sharon Witt, who has organized a fundraiser for her mother’s final arrangements, expressed the overwhelming difficulty of facing this loss without any funds set aside for her burial or cremation.
Sharon wrote, “My mother did not put any funds aside for her burial or cremation. I am presently struggling to pay my own mortgage and my own bills.”
The family is now seeking help from the community to cover the costs, as Marianne’s body is currently being kept at a nursing home that lacks a morgue.
“It’s taking a lot for me to ask for help, but here I am,” Sharon shared, adding the heartfelt plea for assistance.
Marianne is survived by her two children and two grandsons, who are deeply grieving her passing. Her family has expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community.
