Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – Samuel "Sam" Dauby, a cherished resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, tragically passed away on November 18, 2024, after a car accident.
At just 29 years old, Sam’s sudden passing has left his family, friends, and community heartbroken.
Sam was known for his vibrant personality, kind nature, and his deep dedication to both his family and his career.
He was the eldest son of Jonathan and Claire Dauby and grew up in a close-knit family with his younger siblings, Olivia and Ethan.
Sam was a proud Pittsburgh native who embraced his city’s culture, from cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park to exploring the Carnegie Science Center.
After attending Central Catholic High School, Sam went on to graduate from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017 with a degree in Business Administration.
He worked as an operations manager at a logistics firm, where his leadership and problem-solving abilities earned him respect and admiration.
Colleagues remember Sam for his infectious enthusiasm, and his ability to bring people together in both his professional and personal life.
Sam was also deeply involved in his community, volunteering at local food banks and mentoring young professionals.
He was known for his loyalty and generosity, always willing to lend a hand to those in need.
On the evening of November 18, Sam was driving home from a friend’s gathering when his vehicle collided with another on a rain-slicked highway.
Despite the quick arrival of emergency responders, Sam tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The loss has been felt deeply by those who knew him.
“Sam had a way of making everyone feel important,” said one close friend. “He had so much more to give, and it’s heartbreaking to lose him so soon.”
To honor his legacy, the Dauby family has established the Sam Dauby Memorial Scholarship to support students pursuing careers in business and community service.
A celebration of Sam’s life is scheduled for November 25, 2024, at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Pittsburgh.
